July 19, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong worked with the People’s Committee of District 2 on the implementation of economic and social tasks in the district.

According to Nguyen Phuoc Hung, Chairman of district 2 People’s Committee, a series of important works on flood reduction, traffic jam around Thu Thiem new urban area is being calculated by the city to allocate capital to build.
Important works such as the north-south canal in Thu Thiem urban area adjacent to Thu Thiem (scale of nearly 300 ha in Binh An Ward, Binh Khanh Ward and An Phu Ward) to solve drainage with the investment of more than 1.738 billion; embankment and dredging of Ca Tre canal drainage on Tran Nao street, Luong Dinh Cua street with the cost of over 163 billion VND; building new bridge Giong Ong To 1 and the intersection of two bridges connecting An Phu with Binh Trung Tay ward; To renovate, upgrade and expand Nguyen Thi Dinh Street; To build intersection Thao Dien (Thao Dien ward)- Hanoi Highway to connect residential area north of Hanoi Highway with An Phu – An Khanh urban area of 131 ha in An Phu Ward.
People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has also approved 232 flats in apartments R7, Thinh Vuong, Fideco Riverview; 81 ground for resettlement area 30 ha south of Rach Chiec and 50 ha of Cat Lai to serve the compensation, support and resettlement projects urban renovation and public utility in the district 2.
